Anti-Fatigue Matting
Fatigue in the work-place has a direct correlation to decreased productivity and increased accidents. Anti-Fatigue mats combat work-place fatigue in two ways:
- Mats reduce fatigue by creating a slightly unstable standing surface. This requires the postural muscles to make frequent, small contractions to maintain the person’s balance. These contractions make sure that the muscles receive a good supply of blood and help return the blood to the heart.
- Anti-Fatigue matting serves as an impact buffer between the worker and hard flooring surfaces. It reduces jarring to ankles, knees, and back joints, and in doing so reduce both fatigue and worker injuries.
When selecting Anti-Fatigue Matting consider:
- What type of flooring surface is the mat sitting on?
- Is it a wet or dry application? Is hygiene of importance?
- Are there width, length or height restrictions?
- Is this a high, low or medium traffic application?
- Is appearance important in the desired application?
- Will the product need to stand up against grease and oil?
